My first meeting with this dish was actually in Vienna, my friend and roommate at the time, Emelie, presented it for me. We’ve been out drinking the night before and I was so hungry but way to tired to get out of the house to get some food. Emelie then made me this hangover rice. The most simple dish with the three things you always have at home. Years later, living in Oslo, the same problem accrued, I had hangovers and was hungry. But the thing with Oslo is that the food stores are closed on Sundays, the typical hangover-day. So even if I would have the energy to get out of the house, the food was nowhere to be found. That’s when I returned to the hangover rice. Now I eat it not only on Sundays and been adding some extra stuff to pimp it up.

Ingredients:

1 portion of rice

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 hand of peanuts

Gjør følgende

1. Boil the rice according to the instruction on the package

2. Put the rice in a bowl and pour over the soy sauce

3. Add your peanuts on top.

4. Serve

Ekstra info

You could add some fresh coriander and sriracha mayo on top if you have that at home.
